Willow Lake Site Excavations – Prescott, AZ

When Qwest Communications needed emergency clearance for a cable through a major Prescott Culture pueblo, they called on PaleoWest for help. Seizing control of a dynamic situation fraught with competing interests, PaleoWest negotiated agreements among state and local agencies, Native American tribes, and local museums. Our team of archaeologists then worked during all daylight hours and through weekends to remove eight inhumation burials and excavate and record five other prehistoric features.

As a result of creative problem-solving by the PaleoWest team, Qwest had provisional clearance in hand and was laying conduit and cable in 8 days.
