Congratulations to Dr. Angela Perri on her Promotion and Co-Authored Publication in Science Magazine

May 4, 2023

We’re thrilled to announce the promotion of Dr. Angela Perri to the role of International Heritage Program Manager – Middle East!

As Team Lead for the International Program’s operations in the Middle East, Angela has done an excellent job managing large-scale projects and developing new opportunities for the firm. In her new role, she will oversee daily operations for our projects in the Middle East and contribute to the firm’s overarching goals.

We’d also like to congratulate Angela, who co-authored a paper published in the latest issue of Science titled “Early dispersal of domestic horses into the Great Plains and Northern Rockies.” This collaboration between Dr. Perri and dozens of other authors outlines their interdisciplinary study of archaeological horse remains to address how and when horses may have been first integrated into Indigenous lifeways.

The authors’ findings indicate by the first half of the 17th century CE, horses had spread from the south through the northern Rockies and central plains, likely through Indigenous exchange networks, and had become an integral part of Indigenous societies prior to the arrival of 18th-century European observers. Congratulations on your promotion and this incredible achievement, Angela!
