Architectural History And Historical Resources Services We Provide

Historical Properties Evaluation
Our team has completed thousands of evaluations across the United States. We are experts on National, State, and Local eligibility criteria, including the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) and state registers, including the California Register of Historical Resources (CRHR) criteria.
HABS/HAER/HALS Documentation
Our Architectural Historians and Historians have decades of experience completing Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), Historic American Engineering Record (HAER), and Historic American Landscape Survey (HALS) documentation.
Mitigation & Implementation
Our team has extensive experience working with applicants and agencies to develop and implement mitigation measures that ensure compliance with regulations and advocate for the historic integrity of resources–always to clients’ satisfaction and benefit.

Historic Surveys
Our Architectural Historians complete a wide variety of surveys, from single-building evaluations to recording thousands of historic properties. Using Codifi and the PaleoWay–our unmatched field technology systems–we can record and evaluate historic properties with greater accuracy and efficiency than any of our competitors.
Compliance
We’re experts in completing historic property assessments and evaluations in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 106 & 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and other state and local regulations. We’re able to identify potential project effects and develop mitigation measures in compliance with State and Federal guidelines and regulations.
Historic Preservation Plans
Our staff complete historic preservation plans for the preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, and reconstruction of historic properties in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. We work with towns, cities, and municipalities to develop and implement preservation frameworks that fit the community’s specific needs.
Historic Tax Credits
The United States has a Federal Tax credit for historic properties, in addition to 39 states which have state-specific historic tax credits programs. We assist property owners with the application process and create plans to restore and rehabilitate historic properties and ensure continued compliance with program conditions.
Historic Contexts
Historic context documents provide a framework for evaluating properties for historic significance. Our team can prepare historic contexts to support many efforts, including assessing individual projects, historic districts, thematic groups, National Register Multiple Property Documentation Forms, planning documents, and in support of regulatory compliance documents.
National, State, And Local Register Nominations
Our team completes National (NRHP), State, and Local nominations of single properties and historic districts. We have extensive outreach experience, working alongside local governments, property owners, and State Historic Preservation Officers on your behalf to list properties on historic registers.
